Bio

I am a motivated software systems development student at South East Technological University (SETU) in Co. Waterford. In addition to my academic pursuits, I proudly serve as the Student Representative for my course at South East Technological University (SETU). In this role, I act as the primary contact between students and the course faculty, including the course head and the head of department of computing and mathematics. Through open communication and collaboration with university staff, I strive to find effective resolutions and ensure a supportive learning environment. My main interests rely in Machine Learning, Model Development for inference, Web Application Development, and Mobile Application Development.

Projects

Predicting Heart Disease

  • Description: Built a classification model in Scikit-learn, trained on publicly available data, feature selection was done prior to training. Class labels were (heart disease or no heart disease). Logistic Regression was found to be the best classifier.
  • Technologies Used: Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib and Jupyter notebooks
  • Achievements:
    • Implemented a real-time inference model for predictions
    • Achieved 88.52% accuracy on the test dataset

Automated Ordering System (Personal Project)

  • Description: A system in which sale & stock reports can be uploaded via a web page and the backend comes back with a recommendation of stock to order
  • Technologies Used: Python, Pandas, Flask, Bootstrap, Datatables, and PDFmake
  • Achievements:
    • Created a user-friendly web interface for report uploads and order recommendations.
    • Achieved a 26% reduction in stock shortages by optimizing order recommendations based on sales data.
    • Implemented PDF report generation for easy and professional documentation of order recommendations.
